Datacom Tech Scholarships 

Yoobee College of Creative Innovation have partnered with Kiwi tech powerhouse Datacom to offer a limited number of scholarships supporting Maori and Pasifika, and women in Tech.

These two scholarships give Maori & Pasifika, and women with potential and passion in emerging Tech industries, 100% of their tuition fees paid for each year of Yoobee's Bachelor in Software Engineering.

The scholarships will also provide students with:

  • Mentorship opportunities at Datacom
  • Datacom in partnership with Dell will provide a Dell laptop to assist with studies

If you are a NZ resident and identify as female, and have consistently demonstrated exceptional potential and a passion for technology then you should consider applying. Conditions apply to maintain access to the scholarships which are based on attendance and academic performance.

Selection Criteria


Datacom Women in Tech Scholarship 
To be eligible to apply you must:

  • Identify as female
  • Be a NZ Permanent Resident or NZ Citizen
  • Have completed Year 13
  • Apply for the first year of the Bachelor of Software Engineering
  • Demonstrate the potential for academic excellence in Technology or related subjects by providing your Academic Transcript

Datacom Maori & Pasifika Scholarship
To be eligible to apply you must:

  • Be of Maori or Pacific island descent
  • Be a NZ Permanent Resident or NZ Citizen
  • Have completed Year 13
  • Apply for the first year of the Bachelor of Software Engineering
  • Demonstrate the potential for academic excellence in Technology or related subjects by providing your Academic Transcript


How do I apply?

To apply explicitly state that you are applying for either the Datacom Women in Tech scholarship, or the Datacom Maori & Pasifika Scholarship in your Letter of Intent, which is part of your official Yoobee College of Creative Innovation application. 

Additional information

The submissions will be judged by Yoobee's Academic and Datacom Panel, which will consist of representatives from the programme that the student is applying for as well as members of Datacom.

This scholarship entitles students to fully funded tuition fees for all three years of the programme. 

This would cover tuition fees of over $30,000 paid over three years i.e. $10,000 in year 1, year 2 and year 3.

Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain a minimum GPA and complete the course in the standard duration of the programme.
